The designation of Spain as a Country of Honor comes at a time of great effervescence for the Spanish audiovisual sector. The production of both scripted and non-scripted content has seen notable growth in recent years, driven by both national and international producers. Spanish series and films are not only among the most viewed worldwide, but are also garnering growing recognition and numerous international awards.
MIPCOM Cannes 2024 will host a series of notable events that will celebrate the talent and creativity of the Spanish audiovisual sector, with the aim of promoting international collaboration. Among the planned activities are screenings of highly anticipated series, expert panels focused on co-production opportunities and a Spanish-themed opening party. The Country of Honor program is part of the «Spain Plan Audiovisual Hub of Europe"This is a major public investment initiative with a budget of €1.6 billion over five years. The plan aims to increase audiovisual production in Spain by 30% by 2025, consolidating the country's position as a leader in the global industry."
