Spain closed the first quarter of 2017 with the record figure of 12.930.065 international tourists, according to the Frontur survey – Tourist Movements at the Border, which elaborates the National Institute of Statistics and made public by Secretary of State for Tourism, Matilde Asián.
This figure represents an increase of 9,3% compared to the first three months of 2016.

La Secretary of State for Tourism has also announced the forecasts prepared by Turespaña for the May long weekend. The total expected occupancy (in hotels and rural houses) is 76,9%, which represents an increase of 11,3% compared to the actual occupancy of the May 2016 long weekend, which was 69,1%.
In addition, the expected hotel occupancy for this long weekend is 80,5%, with an increase of 10% compared to last year's long weekend, which was 73,2%.
