The Secretary of State for Agriculture and Food, Begoña García, held a meeting with the Vice Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People's Republic of China, Ma Youxiang, in which the existing commitment to agricultural cooperation between both countries was reflected.

During the meeting, various topics of special relevance to the agricultural development of both countries were addressed. Among them, the importance of the cooperation in agricultural technology, with a particular focus on the efficient utilization of water resources and the implementation of more sustainable irrigation systems.
This meeting is part of the next official visit of the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas, to the People's Republic of China
Secretary of State García took advantage of the occasion to share with the Chinese vice minister the results of the rural development public policies implemented in Spain, highlighting the initiatives and projects carried out by local action groups. Likewise, the importance of international collaboration to guarantee sustainable fishing was discussed.
This meeting is part of the next official visit of the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, louis planes, to the People's Republic of China. During his stay in the Asian country, the minister will attend the International Industry Fair Alimentaria SIAL Shanghai and will meet with the authorities of the Ministry of Agriculture and the General Administration of Customs of the Chinese Government. The main objective of these meetings will be to promote agreements to open the Chinese market to new Spanish products.
