The objective of this meeting is Strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the field of food safety and new technologies. During the meeting, priority issues for both countries were addressed, such as antimicrobial resistance and its impact on public health and the control of food fraud.
In addition, Rodriguez and Jebb have discussed the application of the artificial intelligence and new technologies, especially with regard to new genomic techniques, an issue in which both countries have a special interest.
The importance of trade in food products between Spain and the United Kingdom was also highlighted during the meeting, particularly after Brexit.
In relation to import control, the FSA has shown great interest in learning about the Spanish experience in the development and use of computer systems for data management.
