This 'XVI Meeting of the Auxiliary Olive Industry', organized by Andalucía TRADE, through Extenda, has brought together a dozen Andalusian companies and eight international agents holding a total of 65 B2B business interviews.

La Junta de Andalucía promotes the diversification of olive grove auxiliary industry with a trade mission held within the framework of the 21st edition of Expoliva 2023, the main world fair for the promotion and development of the olive grove and olive oil sector, which takes place, from May 10 to 13, in Jaen. This `XVI Meeting of the Auxiliary Industry of the Olive Grove`, organized by Andalucía TRADE, through Extenda, on May 10 and 11, it brought together a dozen Andalusian companies and eight international agents from Turkey, Morocco, Italy and Azerbaijan, who held a total of 65 B2B business interviews .
The objective of this action has been to strengthen the position of these companies in opportunity markets. Currently, Andalusian exports of the auxiliary industry of Andalusian agriculture have reached 936 million euros, a historical record figure. Thus, The export bill increases by 19,6% compared to the previous year with an increase also in the community's regular export companies, a total of 404, 7,7% more than in 2021. These companies account for 88% of the total exported by Andalusia.
Likewise, the community is a world leader in the production and export of olive oil, with historic sales in 2022 worth 3.286 million, with a growth of 24,3% and 76% of national exports. Olive oil is one of the main products associated with the prestige of the Andalusia Brand in the world and one of the reference values for the strength of the Andalusian agribusiness, a strategic sector for Andalusia.
The international agents from Turkey, Italy, Morocco and Azerbaijan belong to firms primarily dedicated to the production of olive oil, viticulture and fruit growing and the cultivation of olive trees. On the other hand, the Andalusian delegation was made up of a total of 12 companies that are dedicated to the production of machinery and specialized services for the agricultural industry.
The participating firms have been Laboratorio Agrama, and Talleres González y París, from Seville; Moresil, Talleres López Garrido and Montibox, from Córdoba; Ansotec Technological Solutions, Agroisa, Alber Plastic Moldings, and Safi Manufacturing Systems; from Granada; Amenduni Ibérica, Ildefonso Rosa Ramírez e Hijos (JAR) from Jaén; and Química Verde Masul of Malaga.
The organization of this action by Extenda will be co-financed with funds from the European Union through the FEDER OP of Andalusia 2014-2020, endowed with a community contribution of 80%, or any other European Program capable of co-financing this action.
More than fifty meetings
This trade mission has had an interesting agenda for companies in the sector that yesterday Wednesday had the opportunity to meet with international importers to detect business opportunities and establish synergies, maintaining up to 65 B2B meetings, and later attended a conference by the international agronomic analyst, strategic consultant and professor of the University of Jaén, Juan Vilar.
Today, the Andalusian and foreign delegations visited the exhibiting companies at the 21st edition of the International Fair of Olive Oil and its Related Industries, Expoliva, with the aim of analyzing it in depth and thus being able to discover new opportunities for the diversification of its markets. The biannual exhibition has been held in an exhibition space of more than 32.000 meters, with almost 300 exhibitors, more than 1.500 companies represented and some 5.400 brands.
With a dozen countries participating in the exhibition space, among which are Argentina, France, Germany, Italy, Morocco, Portugal, Sweden, Turkey and the United Kingdom, in this edition Tunisia was present as a guest importer. This is an event whose main objective is to show the advances that have been made in technology, innovation and development around the olive grove and its related industries.
Agricultural auxiliary industry record
In 2022, Andalusian exports of the agricultural auxiliary industry reached 936 million euros, a historical record figure. In this way, the export bill increases by 19,6% compared to the previous year, and places Andalusia as the fourth autonomous community in sales, with 8,2% of the national total.
Last year, sales grew in 7 of the 8 provinces with Almería as the leader with exports worth 200 million (21,4%) and growing 12,6% compared to 2021; followed by Seville, with 161 million (17,3% of the total) and an increase of 6,8%; and Huelva, with 123 million (13,1%) and an increase of 58%, the best provincial growth. In fourth place is Córdoba, with 121 million (12,9%) with an increase of 33%; Málaga, with 121 million (12,9%) and an increase of 12,3%; Jaén, with 95 million (10,1%) and an increase of 24,7%; Granada, with 75 million (8%) and an improvement of 26%; and Cádiz, with 40 million (4,3%) and a decrease of 4%.
This sector shows great diversification with destinations on four continents among its top ten markets and with growth in 8 of its 10 top ten countries. Portugal is the leader with 171 million (18,3% of the total) and an increase of 35%; followed by France, with 162 million (17,3% of the total) and an increase of 19,9%; and the United States, with 70 million (7,5% of the total) and an advance of 1%.
