Uruguay's exports increased by 9,6 percent in the first seven months of this year, compared to the same period in 2006, the Central Bank reported today.
Between January and July, exports totaled $2.428,28 million compared to $2.215,84 million in the same period of 2006, the issuing agency stated.
Comparing July of this year with the same month of the previous year, exports grew by 18,3 percent, going from $332,27 million to $393,20 million, it was reported.
According to the Central Bank, Uruguayan imports totaled $2.685,71 million in the first seven months of this year, 4,4 percent more than in the same period of 2006.
Imports in July rose 12,1 percent to $501,63 million, compared to $447,31 million in the same month of 2006.
In the year-on-year balance to last July, Uruguayan exports had an increase of 11,8 percent, placing products for a total of 4.164,96 million dollars, compared to 3.725,24 million in the previous period, it was reported.
