Extenda informs aeronautical firms about the importance of belonging to a cluster and growing countries and sectors

A total of 75 Andalusian aeronautical firms participated in two webinars organized by the Ministry of the Presidency, Public Administration and Interiorthrough Extenda-Andalusian Foreign Promotion Agency, to inform about the importance of belonging to a cluster when addressing the international markets, and about new products and growing countries.

 

The first meeting focused on publicizing the new products and markets that are currently growing the most and that can provide diversification to the aerospace industry. And the second session addressed, in a round table format, aspects such as the importance of belonging to a cluster to enter international markets, fundamentally also from the aerospace field.

 

This second webinar, which was moderated by Arturo Bernal, CEO of Extenda, counted on the participation of Juan Román, managing director of Andalucia Aerospace and representatives of Andalusian firms Mades and Latesys. During the meeting, the tools of Capabilities and the importance of belonging to a sector cluster when doing business in international markets such as United States and Europe.

 

Arturo Bernal highlighted in his speech that “Andalucía remains the second Spanish community in aeronautical exports in 2019 only behind Madrid, with which the aeronautical, space and defense sector is led by both regions with 41% and 47% of the business, respectively.”

 

The CEO extend He also pointed out that “the aeronautical sector is strategic for Andalucía since, with a surplus of 1.600 million euros, it provides high diversification and allows the region to grow significantly both in emerging markets and in Asia, with countries such as Emirates and Singapore in the top ten of exports, as well as in mature fruits such as France and Germany".

 

Finally, Bernal He stressed that “the objective of this day is to share ideas that allow us to refine marketing at an international level.” In this sense, he emphasized that “from Extenda we can play a fundamental role, together with the Andalucia Aerospace cluster, to provide that international vision and effective support on the path to Capabilities".

 

For its part, Juan Román, managing director of Andalucia Aerospace offered his vision on the advantages that a company can obtain from its participation in a cluster, focusing, above all, on those that facilitate the increase in the internationalization of its associates.

 

 

Topics discussed included international markets with high growth potential such as RPAS, U-Space, Urban Air Mobility, defense technology programs, HAPS – High Altitude Pseudosatellites, Space and new Space; and new technologies applied to these new business areas

 

 

 

“Aerospace Cluster” Webinar

 

Likewise, during the webinar called “The importance of belonging to a cluster to address international markets. A vision from the aerospace sector”, held yesterday before about thirty Andalusian firms, addressed issues such as the size of Andalusian companies in the sector, the reformulation of business and industrial structures in the region, as well as the levels of subcontracting .

 

Issues such as excessive dependence on the aerospace auxiliary industry with low customer diversification or the lack of product engineering companies and their coordination with manufacturers to improve the capacity to operate in a network were also noted. Likewise, the structural challenges of the area were discussed, such as the lack of greater investment in R + D + i

 

Likewise, the closest opportunity markets were presented as opportunity markets, and specifically those referring to the driving companies, especially in the European area due to the common policies in certain planned defense projects. Fada-Catec Webinar

 

The webinar on “New high-growth products and markets for high-value-added diversification in the aerospace sector”, which took place on June 9, and brought together 45 companies, was given by representatives of Andalusian firms. CTO Avionics & Systems and CTO Materials & Processes, both belonging to the Advanced Center for Aerospace Technologies-Catec.

 

In this online forum, the opportunities for diversification of the sector were presented, especially in the technological field and supported by the capabilities it offers. Fada-Catec in its service activity to Andalusian companies. Among these functions, Fada-Catec spoke about its support in identifying new business options in products and services that add more value to the sector and Andalusia, thus generating new opportunities in new countries and sectors.

 

Topics were discussed such as international markets with high growth potential, such as RPAS, U-Space, Urban Air Mobility, defense technological programs, HAPS – High Altitude Pseudosatellites, Space and new Space; and new technologies applied to these new business areas. Likewise, a summary of the experience of Catec in Andalusia and the competitive advantages that establishing themselves in their facilities entails for firms in the community.

 

The companies participating in both online briefings belong, among others, to sectors such as aerospace, security and defense, naval and IT; and are mostly based in the province of Seville.
