From March 27 to 28 at Ifema
Ministry of the Presidency, Public Administration and Interior invites importers from Canada, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Japan and Mexico to the oil forum.
La Ministry of the Presidency, Public Administration and Interiorthrough Extenda-Andalusian Foreign Promotion Agency, organized a total of ninety commercial interviews between eighteen Andalusian oil companies and seven sales agents. Canada, United States, United Arab Emirates, Japan and Mexico, within the framework of the VIII World Olive Oil Exhibition (WOOE) which was held from March 27 to 28 in Ifema (Madrid).
This is the first time that extend collaborate with the contest by bringing international buyers. The WOOE addresses all international olive oil sector including olive oil mills, marketers and bottlers from around the world; producers looking to open new export markets and opportunities; and foreign buyers of olive oil. The forum hosted 760 exhibiting companies from a total of 10 countries. Furthermore, Spain was represented by ten autonomous communities that together account for 98% of national production.
This is the first time that Extenda collaborates with the event by bringing international buyers. The WOOE is aimed at the entire international olive oil sector
International agenda: tastings
The international delegation began the work session on the 27th in the center of Ifema South Conventions with a presentation on the olive oil sector in Andalucía followed by a tasting of extra virgin olive oils led by Alfonso Fernández, qualified taster.
Subsequently, the foreign importers attended a culinary demonstration with extra virgin olive oil that included a gastronomic and tourist vision of the Spanish olive groves organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and with the help of chef Kile Piñero from the restaurant “A Horta D' Obradoiro”. On the second and last day of the forum, March 28, operators of Canada, United States, United Arab Emirates, Japan and Mexico invited by extend They visited the stand area where the protected designations of origin of Andalusian oil were located and carried out another round of interviews with the participating Andalusian companies.
Andalusian companies
The participating Andalusian companies come mostly from Jaen with fourteen representatives (Montabes Vaño, Aceites Vallejo, Aznaitin, Vadolivo Hacienda, Oleofer, Aceites Condado-Loma, Pradolivo, Cosmeticaolivo, SCA San Vicenta de Mogon, Femye-Sabor D'ORO, Oleícola Jaén, Explotación Bañon, Finca Las Manillas, and Oleo Rincon). Companies from Córdoba (Aroden), Granada (Iznaoliva and Aceites Campopineda), and Seville (Migasa Aceites) also attended. This event was organized by extend will be co-financed with funds from the European Union through the P.EITHER. ERDF of Andalusia 2014-2020, endowed with a community contribution of 80%.
La World Olive Oil Exhibition is a forum that offers the opportunity to learn in the same space the greatest variety of olive oils from the main producing regions in the world: Tunisia, Türkiye, Morocco, Italy, Greece, Australia, Uruguay, South Africa and, mainly, Spain. Likewise, during its eight editions it has become an important meeting point for operators of the international trade of the sector.
