Extenda promotes the offer of Andalusian renewable energy companies at a commercial meeting in Dubai

Economy and Knowledge organizes a business agenda at one of the main events in the sector for the Middle East and North Africa, the MENA New Energy.

A total of six Sevillian companies of the sector of renewable energy They promote their quality offer in a trade mission which is celebrated, from April 25 to 27, in the United Arab Emirates, and which has been organized by the Ministry of Economy and Knowledgethrough Extenda-Andalusian Foreign Promotion Agency.

 

Andalusian firms have also attended, during this business meeting, as attendees and speakers at the congress MENA New Energy 2017, which ends this April 26, in Dubai, and which is considered one of the most important for the region of Middle East and the North of Africa.

 

Vanessa Bernad, CEO of Extenda, accompanies companies in their agenda of interventions and business interviews within the framework of this important congress. In addition, he was able to meet with the counselor Economic and Commercial of Spain in Dubai, Erik Rovina, to know in situ the situation of the sector in the region. On the other hand, he will also attend the meeting with the important institution of the United Arab Emirates, DEWA (Dubai Electricity and Water Authority), public company that manages energy and water in Dubai.

 

The objective of this commercial mission is to know the situation of the sector in the United Arab Emirates and the opportunities that arise for Andalusian firms, since the country has planned investments of more than 1.000 million dollars for the construction of 1.000 MW from solar energy in the next five years.

 

In addition, community signatures have participated in the congress MENA New Energy, a promotional and relevant information event, where firms have had the opportunity to present their services, their success stories, etc. Likewise, the mission has had the support of the Extenda Business Promotion Office in Dubai.

Work agenda

 

The first two days of this action have been dedicated to the attendance of Andalusian companies, as guests and speakers, at the congress, an activity that will be complemented by a third day of interviews with relevant companies and institutions in the sector that will be held tomorrow, the 27th. April. In this way, during the event, the community firms have met with firms and institutions such as ACWA Power, the MESIA Association (Middle East Solar Industry Association) or EDF, among others.

According to reports from Extenda, Middle East and North Africa (MENA) They offer some of the highest levels of solar radiation in the world. So the region is without a doubt a strategic point for anyone working in the renewable sector. Thus, MENA New Energy 2017 brings together the main players in the renewable energy sector to evaluate the opportunities presented by the region, with special attention to photovoltaics and solar thermal. Besides,Dubai is immersed in an ambitious energy diversification plan. Its objective is that, in 2020, 7% of generation will be made from renewables and that the percentage will reach 15% in 2030.

 

Business opportunities

 

According to data from ICEX - Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade, there is a real commitment on the part of the authorities of United Arab Emirates to increase the weight of renewable energies in the country's energy mix.
