Extenda reinforces its positioning in Latin America through the multilateral market

Reverse mission in hybrid format

Celebrates a mission between 26 Andalusian SMEs and four international agents to encourage their entry into projects in Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and El Salvador.


 

 

Extenda-Andalusia Export and Foreign Investment seeks to strengthen the position of Andalusian firms in the Latin American multilateral market in areas such as the digital agenda, health or infrastructures in the multilateral market, for which it held a meeting in hybrid format, in person from its headquarters in Seville, and online, for the 26 Andalusian companies that are part of the Multilateral Club of Andalusia and agents Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and El Salvador.

 

This event is part of the action program for the member firms of the Multilateral Club an Extenda program whose call for participation to host companies is open until next February 15. The objective is to promote the participation of Andalusian companies in international projects or tenders financed through multilateral or bilateral institutions, a market that moves more than 200.000 billion dollars annually around the world.

 

Specifically, the session held last week focused on the opportunities that Andalusian companies can find in development projects in Latin America, whose growth forecast for 2022 is 2,1% according to the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, organism dependent on the ONU. For this mission, Extenda has had the participation of a financial institution, a technology center, a business organization and a specialized engineering, in order to cover the multilateral market in all perspectives. Chile, Colombia, Peru, Mexico and El Salvador.

 

After the development of the different presentations, the Andalusian companies had the opportunity to hold a total of forty-two B2B meetings with the international guests, in order to convey their main interests when addressing this type of projects.

 

El CEO of Extenda, Arturo Bernal, valued the importance of carrying out actions such as this mission focused on the multilateral market because “it represents an interesting route for the development of the international strategy of Andalusian companies and our Andalusia brand, since it promotes large-scale projects supported by international financial entities in areas of high interest such as public health, the digital agenda, infrastructure, logistics or education.”

 

To advance in this sense, Bernal recalled that “the Multilateral Club of Andalusia has just opened a new call, and offers a series of tools and activities to help companies improve their positioning and increase their effective participation in this type of tenders.” But, in addition, the CEO of Extenda recalled, this club "aims to promote synergy between the firms in the community, establish contacts of interest, so that they can attend this type of offers jointly and therefore be able to make more competitive proposals at a global level.”

 

Objective: Latin America

 

The last of these exclusive actions for companies registered in the Multilateral Club was the session dedicated to Latin America, which included the participation of representatives of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration, the Antioquia Science and Technology Center-CTA, the Pacific Alliance Business Confederation and the engineering company specialized in this sector, IDOM.

 

The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) is a multilateral development financial institution, with an international character. Mauricio Chacon, chief official of said institution, explained that Central America is the fourth economy in South America, which brings together 57 million inhabitants, and that it promotes projects related to productive and social infrastructures, energy, agriculture and rural development, and industry and urban development.

 

For its part, Mario Ocharan, director of Export Promotion of Pormperú and Sherpa of the Pacific Alliance Business Council, recalled that this union is an economic and development initiative that has brought together the efforts of four Latin American nations such as Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru, for the projection of business internationally, for what his vision of these markets provided valuable information to Andalusian companies with commercial interests in these markets. In these countries, multilateral projects are currently being developed in sectors such as services, entrepreneurship and innovation, financial integration, health, digital agenda, logistics, circular economy or infrastructure.

 

With more than thirty years of experience, the Antioquia Science and Technology Center is a corporation in charge of promoting science, technology and innovation as instruments for the transformation of territories. Jaime Arboleda, deputy director of the center, pointed out that its objective is to work for the development of sustainable cities and communities, based on dynamics associated with water, waste, energy, climate change and recovery and conservation of natural resources, sectors where they participate in the bidding for projects. international companies that can be a gateway for Andalusian companies specialized in these fields.

 

Lastly, Pablo Mendiguren offered the vision of the IDOM company, an engineering company with more than sixty years of experience in consulting, engineering and architecture services, which works in 125 countries around the world, through 45 offices, five of them in Latin America, with a thousand employees. Mendiguren highlighted the possibilities of the multilateral market, where they found an average of 70 opportunities per month last year, which is why he encouraged the Andalusian companies participating in the session to work in this direction.

Of the 26 companies that have participated in the mission organized by the Extenda Multilateral Club, 15 are from Seville (AGQ Labs International, Boleo Global, Fundación Corporación Tecnológica de Andalucía, Evenor-Tech, Forwit Soluciones y Strategies, Ghenova Ingeniería, Guadaltel, Inerco, Management & Research, MSC Fábricas Agrícolas, SAMU, Taso Desarrollos, Tepro Consultores Agrícolas, Engineering Consultants UG21 and Wellness Telecom).

 

Four other companies are from the province of Malaga (ArksurPlanning, Bioazul, Mainfor Technological Solutions and Training and IMCW Europe). Of the of Granada another three come from (AnotecEngineering, Servicios Integrales de Contratación y Intermediación Dominus and Sulayr Calidad); two companies come from Cordoba (Genaq Technologies and Opera Business Dreams); one of Cadiz (Intelligent Information Technologies); and one more from the province of Almeria (Tecnova Foundation).

 

The organization of this action by Extenda-Andalusia Export and Foreign Investment will be co-financed with funds from the European Union through the FEDER OP of Andalusia 2014-2020, endowed with a community contribution of 80%, or any other European Program capable of co-financing this action.

 

New edition coming soon

 

Extenda has opened a new call to access the next edition of the Multilateral Club, which will remain open until next February 15, for actions that will take place between March 1 of this year and until February 28, 2023.

 

The club's work focuses on increasing the penetration of the Andalusian offer in the markets IFID, as an effective form of internationalization, as well as promoting business cooperation among Andalusian companies with some previous experience in multilateral projects, particularly engineering and consulting firms.

 

Furthermore, the club is constituted as a meeting forum in which its members share contacts, experiences and opportunities for collaboration, generating synergies between them that lead them to launch joint projects, inside and outside of Spain. And to this end, another of its objectives is the dissemination of the achievements of Andalusian companies in these demanding markets in order to promote new business possibilities.

 

February agenda: Club actions

 

The Andalusian companies that are currently part of the Multilateral Club will be able to participate in other events of interest in the coming days, such as the 6th Meeting of Spanish Bidding Companies, which will take place between February 7 and 11 in a 100% online format, in which it will be presented in new Multiannual Program 2021-2027 on European external action, and virtual B2B meetings will be held.

 

In addition, a session on project financing will be held on February 17 through the Asian Development Bank in Southeast Asian countries, which will be in charge of Alberto Cerdan; while on the 22nd of the current month a working breakfast of the Multilateral Club will be held that will feature the experience of the emergency company SAMU and in which a round table will take place with the Andalusian Agency for International Cooperation on public-private collaboration.
