Extenda supports almost twenty wineries in the I International Congress on the traditional wines of Andalusia

A total of nineteen Andalusian wineries have participated hand in hand with the Ministry of the Presidency, Public Administration and Interiorthrough Extenda-Andalusian Foreign Promotion Agency, in it "I International Congress on the traditional wines of Andalusia (CIVTA)» which closes this afternoon, April 3, in the Circle of Fine Arts of Madrid.

Specifically, companies from Cadiz (Delgado Zuleta, Emilio Lustau, Bodegas Barbadillo, Fernando de Castilla, Bodegas Osborne, Romate, Bodegas Hidalgo – La Gitana, Bodegas Williams & Humbert, Bodegas Gutierrez Colosia, Bodegas Yuste and Bodegas Faustino Gonzalez), Cordoba (Alvear, Bodegas Navarro, Perez Barquero and Bodegas Delgado), Malaga (Bentomiz Wineries, La Capuchina Winery and Dimobe Wineries) and Seville (BodegasGonzalez Palacios).

 

International agents

Finally, from Germany, David Schwarzwälder, who is the author of the first guide to Spanish wines in Germany, and the first foreigner to obtain the Golden Nose award as the best taster – sommelier in Spain, will participate today in the first tasting of the afternoon titled “Tasting on oxidative aging.” David Schwarzwälde is a specialized journalist, professor, sommelier trainer and great connoisseur of Spanish wine. He is currently considered one of the most renowned specialists in Spanish wines in the German-speaking markets.

 

CIVTA Congress

 

The inauguration of the Congress was attended by the Andalusian Minister of Agriculture, Carmen Crespo, the Secretary General of Agriculture and Food of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fernando Miranda, and the director of the event, Emilio Ponce, as well as with those responsible for the four regulatory councils that encompass the six designations of origin of the participating wines.

 

This first edition of CIVTA aims to vindicate the common historical origin of traditional wines made in Andalucía and transmit the personality and its evolution in the aforementioned producing areas. Furthermore, their objective is to defend the singularity, exclusivity, quality and uniqueness of the production and aging systems of the different wines of Andalucía.

 

 Finally, the congress is configured as a forum to debate the current situation of wines, focusing on various aspects such as: origin, excellence, innovation, health, sustainability, internationalization, tourism, culture and economic and social development.
