Portugal has strategic importance for Extremadura

The president of the Government of Extremadura, Guillermo Fernández Vara, stressed the strategic importance of Portugal for its region, which has become a "bridge" and a key point between the corridors Mediterranean and Atlantic.
"Our time has come, and Portugal is on our side. We wouldn't be in the position we're in now if it weren't for the fact that we were once a border with Portugal and are now a bridge," the regional president told business leaders at an event in Lisbon organized by hima Portuguese-Spanish Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
