Designer Ross Lovegrove has won first prize in the professional category of the cDIM International Design Awards. The jury, which reached this decision unanimously, considered that this work "brings an aesthetic that represents an innovation in the urban furniture sector, both in the production process and in the materials used."
The second prize went to Lola Llorca. In this case, the jury considered it an innovative proposal with a youthful character, especially geared towards informal uses. Also in this category, the jury decided to award an Honorable Mention to the product by designers Víctor Pinto and Javier Esteve, for its "industrial cleanliness and its applicability as a graphic medium."
Regarding the student category, the jury also unanimously decided to award first prize to Carla Rosaenda, from Diego Portales University in Santiago, Chile. In this case, the jury valued her proposal as "appropriate for new, nomadic, and exhibitionist lifestyles."
Silvio Argudo, from the Cardenal Herrera CEU University of Valencia, and Joohee Lee, a Korean student at the Royal College of Art in London, have won the two second prizes in the category.
The jury for this 20th edition of the cDIM awards was composed of Lola Castelló, industrial designer; Piti Gonzalez, specializing in the commercial sector of design; Roberto Feo, designer and professor at the Royal College of Design in London; Gabriel Teixido, designer; and Juli Capella, architect and president of FAD, who was chosen as president of this jury.
