FedEx, the world's leading express transport company, has opened a state-of-the-art facility in the industrial estate of Saint Teresa, in Malaga, increasing its operating space by more than 50% and tripling its package sorting capacity.
The new station, which has a 3.244 square meter warehouse and modern offices spread over two floors, will be able to handle up to 1.500 packages per hour, significantly reinforcing the efficiency of the service and the regional growth of the company. In addition, it has 29 loading docks, optimized to speed up the processing larger shipments.
Equipped with outdoor parking and improved infrastructure, the station triples FedEx's sorting capacity, allowing it to handle up to 1.500 packages per hour.
Ian Silverton, Managing Director of Ground Operations for FedEx Spain and Portugal, highlighted the importance of this investment: “The new station in Malaga is an important investment in our operational capabilities, which allows us to manage higher volumes and improve efficiency, both in the warehouse and on our distribution routes.” He also stressed that the strategic location of the facilities, with easy access to the city's main highways, expands the range of services for customers in the region.
