It will celebrate its twenty-fifth anniversary
The Madrid International Furniture Fair will hold its next edition from April 22 to 27 at Ifema, with 600 exhibitors and an exhibition space of approximately 60.000 square meters.
The furniture fair, which will celebrate its 25th anniversary at the next event, will occupy pavilions 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9, along with three outdoor areas of the Ifema fairgrounds, to present the latest innovations and trends in home furnishings, the event organizers announced today in a statement.
This furniture fair "has been a pioneering event in the presentation of comprehensive proposals in decoration," the organization states in the press release, with the aim of showing professionals "a complete perspective of the most innovative trends in decoration and interior design."
For the organizers, the Madrid Furniture Fair, one of the most important events in this sector in Europe, will represent "a unique framework for business, promotion and a forum for information on trends and new developments in the international market."
In its last edition, the fair presented a new sectorization by dividing its contents into six large areas (high selection, fusion, interiors, current, garden and terrace, and details), a scheme that will be repeated in the 2008 call.
The furniture fair held its first edition in 1984 in the pavilions of the Casa de Campo, where it brought together the offerings of 235 companies in an area of 27.584 square meters.
In 1991 the fair moved to the Ifema facilities to celebrate an event that represented a qualitative and quantitative leap for this sectoral event, registering the participation of 450 companies and more than 47.000 square meters of exhibition space.
