The consortium led by Ferrovial Agroman has been selected by the Texas Department of Transportation to design and build the section H&I from the ring road SH 99 (also known as the Grand Parkway), in the northeast of the metropolitan area Greater Houston, for 855 million dollars (equivalent to 790 million euros). The consortium also includes Webber LLC and Granite Construction Inc.
The project involves the construction of a 52,5-mile stretch of highway, approximately 85 kilometers of road, crossing the counties of Chambers, Harris, Liberty and Montgomery. The segment, which will be a toll road, will increase its capacity with up to two lanes in each direction, between US 59 and I-10, and four lanes, between I-10 and SH 146, all of them toll lanes. The project includes engineering and construction, but not management, which is the responsibility of the project. TxDOT.

SH 99 Grand Parkway Segments H and I
Construction of the new lanes and modernization of SH 99 toll infrastructure is expected to take six years to complete. Right-of-way acquisition of 375 parcels is expected to take 24 months. Utility relocation, which accounts for 10 percent of the project cost, includes oil and gas pipelines. Seventy-four new bridges will also be built along the project, and more than 74 million cubic meters of earth will be moved.
Ferrovial has a presence in Texas, where, through its subsidiary Cintra, operates highways LBJ Express and North Tarrant Express, in the urban area of Dallas–Fort Worth. In addition, in the last month the Texas subsidiary of Ferrovial Agroman, Webber, has been awarded the I-45 highway extensions in the county of Walker, north of Houston, and US Highway 281 in the Bexar County, in San Antonio.
