FIAB and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the United States strengthen their commitment to the internationalization of the food and beverage sector

[Img # 22975]La Spanish Federation of Food and Beverage Industries (FIAB) and Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the United States have signed a collaboration agreement for the support and promotion of the Capabilities of the food and beverage industry in U.S.

 

Through a comprehensive plan of advice, information and training, both entities will promote Spanish food and drink, contributing to the drive of export activity, especially in SMEs in the sector, which represent around 96% of the business network. In this way, the aim is to facilitate the commercial exchange between both economic regions of great interest to our sector, contributing to the generation of wealth for the national economy and the projection of the image of Spain in the global market to which our gastronomic offer is closely linked.

 

The signing was attended by: Mauricio García de Quevedo, General Manager of FIAB, and Javier Perez-Palencia, President and CEO of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the United States, who have highlighted the importance of creating a stable framework of information and support between both organizations to strengthen the positioning of Spanish food and beverages in the North American market, where demand on the shelves has grown significantly in recent years.

 

 

 

The United States is the country's largest non-EU trading partner. Sales of Spanish food and beverages to the country account for more than 5% of total exports.

According to the latest data from the FIAB Economic Report, United States represented 5,1%, reaching 1.288 million euros of exports of goods from the food industry, a figure that reflects the interest in continuing to encourage trade flows between both regions as a priority market for our food industry.
