Finland and Iberdrola strengthen ties in Bilbao

 

The meeting, which was attended by a Finnish trade delegation and the honorary consul of Finland in Bilbao, Carolina Perez Toledo, highlighted the mutual interest in moving towards a smarter and more sustainable energy future.

“Finland recognizes Iberdrola’s leadership in the transformation of the energy sector,” stated Ambassador Rautio, who highlighted her country’s high level of digitalization, where 85,6% of SMEs have digital capabilities in artificial intelligence or data analytics, exceeding the European average. “We share the same goal of moving towards a cleaner and more digitalized energy future,” she added.

 

For its part, Assisi Channels He emphasized the importance of international collaboration to accelerate the energy transition. “The visit from the Finnish Embassy reinforces our commitment to open innovation and knowledge sharing,” he stated. “We are convinced that collaboration between leading countries in digitalization and companies committed to sustainability is key to achieving global climate goals.”

 

The visit also served to explore possible avenues for collaboration between Finland and Iberdrola in areas such as research and development of new technologies, the implementation of smart grid solutions and the deployment of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles.
