The calendar will be reactivated strongly after the summer

Fira de Barcelona closes the first half of the year reinforcing its international positioning as the venue for leading technological exhibitions and conferences. In this sense, it plans to close in 2023 having held more than twenty events in this sector that will bring together some 210.000 professional visitors and 7.500 companies at the venues of Gran Via, Montjuic and in the CCIB. Looking ahead to the fall, it is already preparing three global competitions, Smart City Expo World Congress, Gartner and VMware Explore.
During the first six months of the year, Fira de Barcelona has hosted 18 events in the technological field, including trade fairs, conferences and corporate events. Highlights the Mobile World Congress Barcelona that, together with 4YFN, attracted 88.500 visitors and more than 2.400 participating companies, or ISE, with more than 58.000 professionals and 1.055 exhibitors, which was held parallel to IOT Solutions World Congress Barcelona and Cybersecurity Congress, organized by Fira de Barcelona and which, together, received more than 15.600 visitors and 330 companies.
The Montjuic and Gran Via venues also hosted e-Show Barcelona, the fair on e-commerce and digital marketing; Spring I/O, the conference focused on the Spring Framework ecosystem; ITC Europe, the largest insurtech event in Europe, or Affiliate World Barcelona, the meeting on affiliate marketing and e-commerce.
For its part, at the Barcelona International Convention Center (CCIB) technological conferences and summits were also held, which brought together nearly 11.000 professionals. Among them, Gartner Supply Chain Executive EMEA Congress; the industry supply chain conference; HPE Technology and Solutions Summit, the corporate event of Hewlett Packard or KingFoMarket, the annual meeting of this multinational video game company.
A tech autumn
The calendar of technology shows will be strongly reactivated after the summer with the celebration of four global sector events. The first two will be Gartner It Symposium XPO Emea, the meeting of analysts of this technological multinational, and VMware Explore, the global corporate meeting of one of the world's leading cloud service providers, which will take place from November 6 to 9 at the CCIB and Gran Via, respectively.
At the same time, from November 7 to 9, there will arrive Smart City Expo World Congress, the international reference event on smart cities and urban solutions organized by Fira de Barcelona and that this year it plans to bring together more than 1.000 exhibitors and 25.000 professional visitors, together with Tomorrow.Mobility, the show that promotes the design and adoption of new models of sustainable urban mobility, Tomorrow Building, on innovation in construction and Tomorrow.Blue Economy, a conference on the economy linked to marine resources.
Medical congresses
Technological events are, along with medical events, two major strategic areas for Fira de Barcelona, in which it has a clear international positioning. In this sense, the Fira venues will host more than twenty exhibitions and conferences in the health field this year, among which Infarma, the medicine and parapharmacy exhibition, the World Parkinson's Congress or the World Congress on Gastrointestinal Cancer that have taken place this summer or the CPHI, the largest global event for the pharmaceutical industry, and the EUSEM on emergency medicine, which will be held in the fall, among many others.
