Andalusian firms will be able to directly show their proposals in flamenco fashion and accessories to importers from China, Korea, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, Singapore, Russia and Italy.
A total of 21 Andalusian flamenco fashion companies They promote their new season designs to eleven importers from eight countries within the framework of a reverse mission organized in the XXVI International Flamenco Fashion Show, SIMOF, For the Ministry of the Presidency, Public Administration and Interiorthrough Extenda-Andalusian Foreign Promotion Agency. The mission takes place from today until tomorrow, Friday, January 31, in the Palace of Exhibitions and Congresses (Fibes) of Seville.
With their participation in this reverse mission, Andalusian brands will be able to directly show their proposals in flamenco fashion and accessories to eleven importers of China, Korea, United States, United Arab Emirates, Japan, Singapore, Russia and Italy, to generate new business opportunities in these key markets for the sector and promote the internationalization of the Andalusian flamenco fashion industry.
In this way, the international meeting includes both bilateral meetings between the Andalusian firms and international guests, as well as showrooms in which they will exhibit the highlights of their collections. For its organization, we have had the collaboration of the Extenda Business Promotion Offices in Shanghai, Miami, Los Angeles, Milan, Tokyo, Moscow, United Arab Emirates and the Korean Antenna.
For the counselor Extenda delegate, Arturo Bernal, the presence of commercial agents from up to three different continents in this mission demonstrates the enormous interest that flamenco fashion with an Andalusian seal arouses in the world. “With this reverse mission we want to give further impetus to the internationalization of this powerful industry, exponent of a cultural tradition that crosses borders,” he stressed.
On the other hand, he indicated that, within the support of the sector, a Flamenco Fashion Showroom in Japan. This is a regular event in the Extenda programme, which aims to facilitate access for Andalusian companies to the second largest flamenco market in the world after Spain.

El International Flamenco Fashion Show, SIMOF 2020 opens its doors from January 30 to February 2 in Fibes (Seville), in an edition that will be especially linked to the Flamenco Biennial and with the commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the death of the Sevillian poet Gustavo Adolfo Becquer.
Andalusian fashion exports totaled 706 million euros in the first eleven months of 2019, which represents an increase of 19,6% compared to the same period of the previous year. This growth is three times higher than that experienced by sales at a national level (+5,2%) and places Andalucía as the community that grows the most of the ten largest exporters.
The number of Andalusian fashion exporting companies in this period was 2.267, a figure that represents an increase of 8,8% compared to January-November 2019. Of them, 617 are regular exporters (exporting for more than four consecutive years), a 6,7% more than in the first eleven months of the previous year.
Malaga It is the first exporting province, with more than a third of sales, specifically, 35% and 244 million euros, with an increase of 11,3% compared to January-November 2018. It is followed by Seville, with 153 million, 21,7% and an increase of 52%, making it the province that is growing the most; Cadiz, with 132 million, 18,7% and an increase of 19,9%; Cordoba, with 81 million, 11,5% and an increase of 4,5%.
Andalusia mainly exports fibers, with 120 million euros, 17% of the total, which almost doubles its figure compared to January-November 2018, with an increase of 89%; followed by women's clothing, with 119 million, 16,9%; jewelry, with 60 million, 8,6%; bags and briefcases, with 39 million, 5,5% and an increase of 22,7%; goldsmithing, with 36 million, 5,1%, which multiplies its figure by five (+450%); and textile items and baskets, with 36 million, 5,1%.
It is a very diversified sector, since it reaches four continents with its top ten markets. Italy is in the lead, with 89 million euros in the first eleven months of 2019, 12,6% and an increase of 5,9% compared to the same period of the previous year. They follow him Morocco, with 75 million, 10,6% and an increase of 18,5%; France, with 63 million, 9% of the total.
