The great exhibition platform for the food, beverage and hospitality equipment industry closes a celebration marked by optimism and business that has brought the entire sector together again and has contributed to its reactivation at a key moment for its growth . Alimentaria & Hostelco has been characterized by a high degree of internationalization and for the presentation of innovations and new trends that point towards the development of more sustainable and healthy products.

 

More than 3.000 exhibiting companies from 52 countries have participated in the call that concludes today to encourage business, Capabilities and reactivation of strategic sectors for the Spanish economy. For its part, nearly 100.000 visitors, 23% international, from 149 countries, as well as an estimated economic impact of 180 million euros, reflect the strength of this edition, which has occupied 85.000 m2 of net exhibition area, practically all of it. of the enclosure Gran Vía de Fira de Barcelona.

 

Thus, Alimentaria & Hostelco has once again consolidated itself as a strategic global event for the internationalization of its participating companies. Of the more than 3.000 exhibiting companies, 400 were international, coming from 52 countries. Brazil, Slovakia, Australia, Canada, United Arab Emirates and Puerto Rico They have participated for the first time in the contest.

 

The next edition of the exhibition platform organized by Fira de Barcelona will be held in March 2024 at the Gran Via venue

 

The exhibition platform has revalidated its leadership by promoting the complementarity of its represented sectors and offering a great business platform for its professionals. Among the attendees were the presence of 1.400 large invited buyers from strategic markets for the export of food and hospitality equipment, such as European Union, USA and Latin America, who have participated in some 13.000 meetings with companies.

Antonio Valls “The intense dynamics experienced during this edition reinforce the character of the event as a strategic partner of the sector in its unstoppable process of internationalization. "The quality of the buyers who have visited us stands out, which will contribute to boosting sales of the food industry abroad."

 

According to the president of Hostelco and the Spanish Federation of Associations of Machinery Manufacturers for Hospitality, Communities and Related Industries (Felac), Rafael Olmos, “we are very satisfied with the results of this edition, which has represented a long-awaited reunion for the sector, meeting expectations that we hope will culminate soon with the complete recovery of the market.”

 

Sustainable and healthy foods

 

Innovation, gastronomy, management linked to sustainability, healthy products and the rise of vegetable protein, as well as the latest trends in the hospitality field have starred in the program of activities at both shows, in which more have been presented. Of 300 innovations, 30 leading chefs with 36 Michelin stars participated and it was possible to visit the recreation of a hotel with the latest technologies.

 

On the other hand, Alimentaria and Hostelco have shown their most supportive aspect with the presence of a hundred volunteers from the Fundació Banc dels Aliments who have collected nearly 35 tons of food and drinks donated by exhibitors.
