Bocconi University's Business School (SDA Bocconi) has been a benchmark in management education in Italy for over 30 years. It now aims to be a leader in Europe as well, according to the new dean, Maurizio Dallocchio, who has headed the school since early 2003.
Although Bocconi's flagship program is the Master in Business Administration (SDA), the institution offers a wide range of MBA programs aimed at young international managers seeking to enter the world of business, as well as public and private financial and insurance entities. Last year, nearly half of the participants came from abroad (one class is taught in Italian and another in English), but the proportion of international students exceeded 80% in the Master of International Economics and Management (MIEM) and the International Master in Management, Law and Humanities of Sport (MASPORT).
"Italian culture welcomes foreigners," says Andrea Gasparri, Managing Director of the School, "who can come and have an incredible experience, completing the SDA Bocconi MBA, and discover the country. In this way, the educational experience is truly international."
Dean Maurizio Dallocchio's main objective is internationalization. "In the coming years, we will have an increasingly internationalized faculty," Dallocchio states, "with more MBA programs aimed at executives of multinational companies."
Another priority is executive education. According to the dean, the goal is for participants to have an innovative and comprehensive experience, given the school's more than 30 years of experience in business training, which is backed by thousands of young professionals and managers who:
