The award was presented by José Luis Bonet , president of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce and honorary president of Freixenet. Bonet emphasized his deep connection to the company: "It has not only been, and continues to be, the company where I have developed my business career... but it has also allowed me to dedicate myself, now more than ever, to institutional matters, to defending the public interest, and to serving both business and society."
The award was accepted by Enore Ceola , CEO of Freixenet Mionetto USA, on behalf of the global wine group, thus consolidating its position and trajectory in the US market.
The celebration in Miami also served to honor other prominent figures. Iván Tornos , president and CEO of Zimmer Biomet, was recognized as "Business Leader of the Year."
In addition, the Chamber recognized the founding and historical work of the institution by awarding Raúl Valdés-Fauli , founder of the Spain-United States Chamber of Commerce, and Julián Linares , former president of the same.
The Ponce de León Awards, established in 2011, seek to recognize the trajectory, effort and achievements of companies and executives who promote the development of trade relations between Spain and the United States.
