Meeting in San Caetano
The head of the Galician Government, Alfonso Rueda, met with the British ambassador to Spain, Hugh Elliott.

The president of the Xunta, Alfonso Rueda, moved to British ambassador to Spain, Hugh Elliott, the interest of the Galician Government in strengthening bilateral relations to advance the common interests between the United Kingdom and Galicia.
Alfonso Rueda and the British ambassador agreed on the need to intensify diplomatic and institutional relations so that the consequences of the Proposed referendum on United Kingdom membership of the European Union do not harm the ties between the British and Galicians
The head of the Galician Government received the highest representative of British diplomacy in his office in San Caetano, where he expressed his condolences and that of the Galician people for the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
At the meeting they addressed issues of interest for the relations between the United Kingdom and Spain; in particular, those that directly affect Galicians as a result of the departure of the United Kingdom of the European Union.
Alfonso Rueda and the British ambassador agreed on the need to intensify diplomatic and institutional relations so that the consequences of the Proposed referendum on United Kingdom membership of the European Union do not harm the links between the British and Galicians, both in terms of international trade and fishing or the exchanges between students that have given such good results in recent years.
