El Galicia ICT Cluster A crucial week has begun for the international projection from the region. Fifteen innovative companies, digital transformation organizations and high-caliber financial institutions, from Latin America and the United States, participate in a reverse trade mission which promises to open new avenues for collaboration and business.
The opening day took place in A Coruna, with a visit to the facilities of Abanca and the official opening in the Advanced Services Center (CSA) of the ICT City. Antonio Rodríguez del Corral, president of the Galicia ICT Cluster, welcomed the guests, highlighting the center's potential and the ability of Galician companies to compete globally.
“This mission is a unique opportunity to showcase to the world the innovation and talent we have in Galicia,” said Rodríguez del Corral. “We want to build strong bridges with our international partners and create a technological future together.”
Individual meetings between Cluster partners and international guests allowed for an exchange of ideas and the exploration of potential synergies. The agenda continued in Santiago de Compostela and will culminate in Vigo, with visits to research and development centers such as the CESGA, Gradiant and CTAG, where participants will be able to learn firsthand about the region's most cutting-edge technological advances.
Among the prominent guests are representatives of leading companies in their respective sectors, such as Totalplay (Mexico), EMCALI (Colombia), and Grupo Energía de Bogotá (Colombia). Kevin Estivens, EMCALI's chief technology officer, stressed the importance of international collaboration to drive digital transformation.
“In an increasingly connected world, sharing knowledge and experiences is essential,” Estivens stated. “This mission allows us to explore new solutions and establish strategic alliances that benefit both parties.”
The presence of figures like Ximena duque, executive president of Fedesoft (Colombian Federation of Software and Technologies), and Armando José Manzueta Pena, Vice Minister of Innovation and Technology of the Dominican Republic, reinforces the strategic nature of this trade mission.
The field of digital transformation was also represented by Edgar Ariel Rodríguez, Director of Modernization and Institutional Development of the Judicial Branch of Panama; Adolfo José Fábrega, General Administrator of the National Authority for Government Innovation (AIG) of Panama; and Marva Roxana Dalby, Functional Systems Manager of the Panama Canal Authority.
On the financial level, the mission included the participation of Juan Ramón Anria, Digital Security and Cybersecurity Manager of the Caja de Ahorros de Panamá; representatives of the Inter-American Development Bank-IDB (USA); and Mónica María Gómez, vice president of ASOBANCARIA (Colombia).
This initiative, which has the support of the Igape, is presented as a platform to showcase Galicia's innovative solutions in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, industrial digitalization, and IoT. The ultimate goal is to strengthen competitiveness and technological innovation on a global scale.
