Galicia exhibits its potential as an international logistics hub in Germany

Logistics constitutes the basis of commercial opening

The director of the Galician Institute for Economic Promotion (Igape), Fernando Guldris, participate in Munich at the fair Transport Logistics, an international meeting on logistics, mobility and supply chain management, where the potential of Galicia , the international logistics node.

In this sense, Guldrís highlighted the role that the Community aspires to play in the sector at an international level, claiming Galicia as a “strategic enclave for the merchandise flows and for investments with a high logistics component". An objective for which, as detailed, the region participates for the first time “in the largest logistics fair in Europe” with a representation that, together with the Galician logistics functions cluster, includes a dozen Galician logistics and transport companies.

Guldrís highlights Galicia's strengths such as experience in the logistics of refrigerated and frozen products, the existence of agile ports or the availability of commercial land suitable for any type of company.

On this basis, the director of Igape indicated that the meeting has allowed more than a hundred meetings to work on the positioning of Galicia as an international logistics hub. “The Xunta is clear that, at the international level, logistics constitutes the basis of commercial openness, competitiveness and economic globalization, becoming a fundamental part of economic growth,” he noted. 

The objective is to transfer to the logistics community the strengths of Galicia such as experience in the logistics of refrigerated and frozen products, being one of the main exporters in Europe; agile and safe ports, equipped with the natural protection of the estuaries; and the availability of commercial land suitable for new commercial developments.
