Gamesa secures its first contract for its G126-2.625 MW turbine: it will supply 52,5 MW in Thailand

In addition, it will carry out operation and maintenance tasks for 10 years

[Img # 21922] Gamesa, global technology leader in the wind industry, continues to strengthen its business strategy and product by signing the first contract for its new G126-2.625MW turbine model, a machine that obtains maximum production in low wind areas.

Specifically, the company has reached an agreement with the Thai promoter Gunkul Engineering Public Company and Limited for the supply of 20 wind turbines (52,5 MW) to the wind farm Mittraphap, located in the province of Nakhon Ratchasima, at South of that country. For its part, the company Power China Zhongnan Engineering Corporation will be responsible for the turnkey construction of the project.

The delivery of the machines will take place in the third quarter of this year and their commissioning during the first quarter of 2018. In addition, Gamesa will be in charge of maintaining the park for the next 10 years.

G126 wind turbine, technological excellence

This new machine combines a larger rotor - 126 meters in diameter - with a nominal power of 2.5 MW or 2.625 MW, as well as various tower height possibilities (84, 102 and 129 meters and other adaptations depending on the location).

Furthermore, with extremely low power density, excellent capacity factor and reduced energy cost, this wind turbine increases the energy production of the G114-2.0 MW turbine by up to 25%.
