García-Legaz: "In the short term we need to reach 40% in exports"

Secretary of State Jaime García-Legaz participated this morning in the Cinco Días Forum. He emphasized the importance that the internationalization of companies has had and continues to have on the growth of the Spanish economy.


 
 
García-Legaz explained the current state of bilateral relations between Spain and Cuba and how large Spanish companies are showing interest in the island.He mentioned the special interest that Spain, along with the United Kingdom and the other countries, has in the Free Trade Agreement with the USA He emphasized that the US is willing to sign the agreement, but that it would be very positive for Spain as it would create 144.000 new jobs and benefit large sectors such as automotive and agri-food.
 
 
He gave an overview of the current economic situation and how domestic demand has been growing for various reasons, such as the recovery of unemployment, labor reform, the reduction of personal income tax, low inflation, as well as the liberalization of opening hours and the sales period for businesses, which have led to increased sales among tourists.
