GMI begins operations and production at its new plant in Brazil, expanding its presence in South America

The new plant GMI Americas, located on a 10.000 square meter plot, is designed to strengthen the company's position in the south american market. The strategic location in Mendes will allow GMI to offer a more agile and efficient service to its clients in America, reducing delivery times and better adapting to the specific needs of the region.

"This plant will allow us to optimize delivery times and better adapt to the specific needs of the local market and the entire region, guaranteeing the quality and reliability that characterizes us," he stated. Jose Luis Carmona, CEO of GMI Global.

The official opening of the plant is scheduled for the coming months, but the production of the first coils of cored wire has already begun, symbolizing the beginning of a new era for GMI in the American continent.

Since 2010, GMI has experienced exponential growth, gaining presence in markets such as Europe, America, India, Africa, Turkey and the Middle East, and has more than 300 clients in 60 countries.

Javier SantiagoThe CEO of GMI Americas highlighted the importance of this expansion for consolidating strategic relationships in the sector: “With this expansion, GMI reinforces its commitment to the region, consolidating strategic relationships with companies in the steel and foundry sectors, and positioning itself as a key supplier of encapsulated ferroalloys in the Americas. Undoubtedly, the Mendes plant will allow GMI to consolidate its presence in South America and continue with our internationalization strategy«.

GMI's internationalization strategy, initiated in 2010, has led the company to establish a strong presence in key markets such as Europe, India, Africa, Türkiye, Middle East and America, serving more than 300 customers in 60 countries. Exports represent a significant part of its sales, demonstrating its ability to adapt and meet the demands of the global market.

Leticia ColladoThe CEO of GMI Spain emphasized the strategic nature of this new phase: “The start of GMI Americas’ operations marks a decisive step in our global strategy. I am convinced that, with the support of our team, clients, and partners, we will continue to move forward in this new phase, ensuring the delivery of innovative, high-quality solutions tailored to the specific needs of each of our clients.”

GMI also distinguishes itself by its commitment to sustainability, investing in advanced technology to improve the efficiency of its plants and minimise their environmental impact. The company uses pioneering technology that allows individualised dosing of up to 8 different raw materials, with a maximum deviation of 0,2% in each component, which is crucial for high added value products such as noble alloys.
