Greencities in Belgium

ANDALUSIA TRADE, the Public Business Agency for Economic Transformation and Development, dedicated to supporting the Andalusian companies, invites participation in the next webinar «Greenness in Belgium❞ which will be held online on January 29th at 10:00 am.

Belgium is committed to promoting more sustainable and ecological cities, implementing policies and strategies that foster the development of "Greencities." As a result of these initiatives, Belgian cities are adopting innovative solutions such as expanding green spaces, promoting public and non-motorized transport, and constructing buildings with high sustainability standards.

Furthermore, advanced technologies are being implemented for waste management, improving air quality, and promoting renewable energy. An example of this is the ambitious plan of the city of Brussels (among the 20 most sustainable cities in the world by 2024) to become a «10-minute city» or the recently shortlisted award winner Green Cities Europe 2024, Genk.

The speakers will be:

Lordana Eleftheriadou, Head of the Smart Cities and Proximity team at the European Commission

Patrick Noé, Manager of EMBUILD, the Belgian construction association

The topics to be discussed in this webinar will be:

– European Commission's vision on Green & Smart Cities

– Specific applications: local Green deals in Spain and Belgium. Strategy of the Belgian construction association, EMBUILD
