SATEC Group participates in the EU H2020 program with a project for the development of Fog Computing

A strategic opportunity to strengthen technological innovation

RECAP represents the next generation of fog computing-based applications, provisioning and remediation systems.

The Spanish technology multinational SATEC Group has been participating in the program since early 2017 H2020 of the European Union with your project RECAP.

 

The RECAP consortium is composed of nine partners from five countries: three universities (Universitaet Ulm, Umea Universitet and Dublin City University); one research centre (Imdea Networks Foundation); two SMEs (Tieto Sweden Support Services and Linknovate Science) and three large companies (Intel Research and Development, British Telecommunications Public Limited and SATEC).

 

RECAP It aims to develop the next generation of provisioning and remediation applications and systems based on the computing model called 'fog computing' (also edge and cloud computing) through research advances focused on optimization, simulation and automation. These advances include application modeling in fog/edge/cloud computing architectures; automatic workload modeling; data center infrastructure optimization systems; simulation of large-scale fog/edge/cloud scenarios; and rehabilitation of complex distributed systems and networks.

 

 

This R&D&I project will be implemented during the period 2014-2020 within the framework of the European Union framework programme known as Horizon 2020 (H2020).

In the project RECAP, SATEC Group part of the research proposal on fog/edge computing, and analyses the impact of the massive development of the IoT/IoE (Internet of things/Internet of Everything) and the potential need of clients (operators, utilities, etc.) to provide solutions to the problems that will affect them in the short and medium term.

 

This draft R + D will be implemented during the period 2014-2020 within the framework of the framework programme of the European Union known as Horizon 2020 (H2020). It is the most ambitious research and innovation programme launched by the European Union (EU) and aims to turn great ideas emerging from laboratories into market products. Horizon 2020 has a budget of around 80.000 billion euros and defines three priority areas: “excellent science”, “industrial leadership” and “society challenges”.
