Foreign Company Direct from February 04, 2020
This time we want to talk about risks, following the recent publication of the Global Risk Report, a document from the World Economic Forum prepared with the support of Marsh & McLennan.
This report offers a broad perspective on the main threats that may affect global prosperity in 2020, and in the next decade.
To know all the details, we have with us José María Carulla, director of the Marsh Spain Studies Service, which will explain to us which risks are most cited by respondents, if there are new developments compared to previous years and the conclusions of the aforementioned report.
We highlight the following messages:
“Beyond the trade wars, the concern comes because 6 of the 7 major economic powers in 2019 have shown symptoms of slowing growth in their economies.”
“Social agents are being very active demanding that governments and companies do something to fight climate change and we have not been able to reach international agreements to start working hand in hand on this issue”
“Risks are not independent entities, we are seeing how they interact. For example, regarding technological risks, we are seeing how large cyber attacks are related to the continuity of supply chains and critical infrastructures, which are vital for the coexistence of society and for the continuity of company activities”
“What we are seeking (with the Global Risks Report) is to generate debate, to think about where to go from here so that we can face these challenges in 10 years.”
