Iberdrola, through its British subsidiary Scottish Power, has acquired the technology Derryherk, consolidating its presence in United Kingdom Following the recent purchase of Electricity North West (ENW) in August. The acquisition will enable ScottishPower to improve data connectivity across its network through innovative technologies that optimise problem detection, constraint forecasting and active management of the low voltage network.
The acquisition follows an alliance between the two companies that has improved data connectivity on ScottishPower's network.
With this purchase, which arises from a previous alliance between both companies, Iberdrola reinforces its commitment to the sustainability and its zero-emission ambitions. In addition, the operation is part of a 12.000 billion pound (about 14.400 billion euros) investment that the company will allocate to its businesses in United Kingdom enjoyed between 2024 and 2028.
Since acquiring ScottishPower in 2007, Iberdrola has invested nearly £30.000bn (€36.000bn) in the UK, where it now manages a network that supplies electricity to more than 3,5 million homes and businesses.
