With the aim of promoting the presence and knowledge of Spanish foods and wines in India, ICEX Spain Export and Investments invites Spanish companies in the sector to participate in an exhibition that will take place in the exhibition hall of the Cervantes Institute of New Delhi in September 2023.
This activity will be aimed at the professional public: importers, distributors, representatives of the sector HORECA, specialized press and opinion leaders. ICEX considers that the most appropriate product families to participate in this event would be olive oil, ham, sausages, cheeses, preserves, pâtés, honey, jams, chocolates, wines and beers.
According to ICEX, the emergence of a new middle class in the India It is related to an increase in the consumption of foods with greater added value such as olive oil, wine or cheese, among others.
Thus, wine consumption, although still low, has shown an average growth rate of approximately 10% over the last decade. Regarding cheese, although only cheese made with vegetable or microbial rennet can be exported to India, there are several sources that are driving the demand for this product in India. There is also a growing interest on the part of the Indian consumer in meat of pork origin, cured and cooked.
Of course, it is worth noting that Spain is the main exporter of olive oil to India, both in value and volume. Spanish companies represent 81% of the total, followed by Italian companies.
The format of the event will be a showroom in which a maximum of 20 exhibiting companies from the aforementioned sectors will participate.
