Within the framework of the III International Logistics Meeting held in Barcelona, ​​ICIL and the Federation of National Associations of Freight Agents and International Logistics Operators of Latin America and the Caribbean (ALACAT) announced the launch of the Advisory and training program in international trade logistics. This initiative aims to strengthen and optimize international transportation between Latin America and Europe, seeking to improve competitiveness in terms of service level, security and costs.

 

The agreement between ICIL and ALACAT establishes a collaboration framework to offer shippers and freight agents a space for interaction where they can share good practices, debates, training, sector studies and direct connections. The objective is to improve logistics in international merchandise flows between both regions.

 

“This Program is an important project that will allow for a disruptive leap in the field of international trade,” he highlighted. First step: identify needs

 

The first step of the program will be to conduct a survey to segment needs by country and shipper sector. Based on the needs detected, “face to face” meetings will be coordinated with homogeneous groups. The forecast is to offer, starting in 2025, advice, training and guidance to shippers in aspects of costs, services and safety that best suit each type of traffic.

 

III International Logistics Meeting: a forum for debate and collaboration

 

The III International Logistics Meeting, held within the framework of the Barcelona International Logistics Show (SIL 2024), brought together numerous personalities from the sector. Carmen Calama, president of ICIL, highlighted the entity's role as a “reference forum for debate and dissemination of logistics knowledge.”

 

The meeting was also an opportunity to present the ICIL Sector Committees, working groups that cover the areas of digitalization, sustainability and talent management. These committees seek to be a forum for debate to share good practices, disseminate them and make them reach other companies and society.
