IHG opens the Intercontinental Shenzhen hotel

The IHG group opened the Intercontinental Shenzhen hotel last February in Shenzhen, China, becoming the first Spanish-inspired luxury business hotel.
The building has 549 rooms spread over eight floors and two wings, with 76 suites, 28 luxury apartments with all hotel services and two Intercontinental Clubs; in addition to this, there are eight themed restaurants and bars, which offer innovative and surprising gastronomic experiences.
It also features a ballroom with a capacity of 1.200 people, where various events can be held. The Intercontinental Shenzhen Hotel also offers seven multi-purpose rooms, a swimming pool with natural beach sand, and a spa. Throughout the year, the hotel will host wine-related events and flamenco classes.

Eastern objective
This new hotel is the chain's seventh and its 66th in China, a country that has provided a large number of new tourists to the market. The group aims to open 125 hotels in China by the end of 2008.
