Wine importers from Asia and America explore the La Mancha DO on a reverse mission.

La Denomination of Origin La Mancha hosted a reverse mission of wine importers last May, a key event organized in collaboration between the ICEX Spain Export and Investments and the promotional extension of Fenavin, the leading fair for Spanish wine.

The reverse mission is part of a strategy to enable foreign experts to learn first-hand about the diversity of Spanish production and the uniqueness of the production centers within the La Mancha region. The main objective is to broaden their understanding of local products and offer a comprehensive view of the Spanish offering in the wine sector.

Javier LópezThe ICEX representative explained the dynamics of these visits: “Traditionally, ICEX takes advantage of national trade fairs like Fenavin to invite importers to the event. Subsequently, with the help of a collaborator, in this case the La Mancha Designation of Origin, we invited these professionals to take a 'round trip' or reverse mission through the production area, including visits to wineries and vineyards."

During their stay, the importers had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the winemaking tradition of La ManchaThe program included visits to prominent wineries and vineyards, complemented by cultural and culinary activities that offered a comprehensive experience of the region and its products. This direct immersion seeks to strengthen commercial ties and open new doors for La Mancha DO wines in key markets in Asia and America.
