The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAP) has sealed a key agreement with the Spanish Federation of Associations of Producers and Exporters of Fruits, Vegetables, Flowers and Live Plants (FEPEX) with the aim of enhancing the international presence of the Spanish fruit and vegetable sector during the two-year period 2025-2026.
This collaboration agreement, already published in the Official State Gazette (BOE), part of the National Food Strategy (ENA) and the initiative «Food from Spain"Its main goal is to showcase the excellence, diversity and quality of Spanish agri-food products in the global markets.
With this agreement, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food reaffirms its commitment to the international promotion of "Foods from Spain" and to supporting agri-food companies in their international expansion.
The financing of the agreement amounts to a total of 780.000 euros, which will be covered equally by both entities: the Ministry will contribute 50% and FEPEX the remaining 50%.
The agreement details the participation of FEPEX and exporting companies in major international trade fairs. Notable events include the 2025 editions of Asia Fruit Logistica, Fruit Attraction y Paysalia, as well as those of 2026 IPM food y Gulfood Green.
One of the most significant actions contemplated is the organization of a visit of international buyers to the Fruit Attraction fair, which is held annually in October in MadridThis initiative represents crucial institutional support for the sector's global positioning.
The National Food Strategy seeks to consolidate Spain's position as a global leader in food excellence, promoting a comprehensive, sustainable, and competitive system based on the production of healthy, affordable, and high-quality foods.
