Andalusian boost to agricultural products in Italy: Record exports and trade mission at TuttoFood

 

 

The Andalusian agri-food sector continues its expansion in the Italian market, registering a Historic export record in 2024, reaching 1.621 billion euros, which is a 31% growth compared to the previous year. This milestone consolidates Italy as a key destination for the region's products.

 

In this context of growth, Andalucía TRADE, the Andalusian agency for foreign promotion, has organized a Trade mission to Milan on the occasion of the TuttoFood international fair, which will be held from May 5 to 8 at the venue Rho FairThe initiative seeks to further strengthen the presence of Andalusian companies in this important European market.

 

During the first three days of the event, five Andalusian companies – Toro Albalá (Córdoba), Coloryn (Jaén), Green Lily (Málaga), Jolca Olives (Seville) and Heredad de Valdeporres (Seville) – are carrying out a busy schedule of meetings with Italian importers. It is estimated that around thirty business meetings will be held at the Andalusia TRADE institutional stand, coordinated by the Federation of Food and Beverage Industries (fairy tale) inside the Spanish pavilion.

 

In 2024, sales of Andalusian food and beverages grew by 31% in this country, reaching a record €1.621 billion.

 

The main objective of this action is Promote the internationalization of Andalusian companies, consolidate their leadership in the Italian market, and explore new business opportunities.TuttoFood, recognized as one of the most important trade fairs globally, offers a unique showcase for the latest trends, innovation, and sustainability throughout the food chain.

 

The trade mission is supported by the Milan office of the Andalusian TRADE International Network and is co-financed with European funds through the Andalusian FEDER Operational Programme 2021-2027.

 

Andalusia, second largest exporter to Italy

 

The notable increase in agri-food exports has positioned Andalusia is the second largest exporter to Italy, accounting for 21,1% of the national total., behind only Catalonia (23%). Italy is the third-largest market worldwide for the Andalusian sector, absorbing 10,3% of its total foreign sales.

 

Córdoba led Andalusian exports to Italy in 2024 with €430 million., followed by Seville (320 million) and Almería (202 million). Jaén experienced the greatest provincial growth, with an impressive 92% increase in its exports.

 

Olive oil has established itself as the star product of Andalusian exports to Italy in 2024, reaching €861 million., representing 53% of the total and an increase of 34%. Next in importance were vegetables (199 million), fruits (150 million) and fish, crustaceans and molluscs (132 million). Also noteworthy is the Exceptional growth of 2.145,9% in grain exports.

 

Andalusia's participation in TuttoFood underscores the region's commitment to further strengthening its commercial ties with Italy and consolidating its position as a supplier of high-quality food and beverages in the European market.
