This edition will focus on the key factors to strengthen the competitiveness of the region, with special emphasis on innovation, human capital, technology and the projection of the Aragon brand.
The event will be attended by relevant figures such as Miguel Marzo, president of CEOE Aragón; Victor Iglesias, CEO of Ibercaja; Jorge Azcon, president of the Government of Aragon; and Mar Vaquero, Vice President and Minister of the Presidency, Economy and Justice of Aragon. In addition, a round table moderated by Antonio Cobo, President of the Think Tank Aragon, which will feature the participation of Maria Lopez Valdes, CEO of bitbrain; Javier Cendoya, general manager of edelvives; and Alberto Jiménez Schuhmacher, researcher at the IIS Aragon.
Within the framework of the Summit, the Company of Aragon Honor Award 2024 Inditex Group, in recognition of its outstanding socio-economic contribution to the region. The company's CEO, Óscar García Maceiras, will collect the award. Inditex, with 5.692 stores and more than 161.000 employees worldwide, has maintained a strong commitment to Aragon since it established its headquarters in 2003. Zaragoza Logistics Platform (PLAZA) su Europe Platform, Zara's first logistics centre outside Galicia.
The group has continued to invest in its expansion in the region, with several extensions to its facilities and a workforce that currently exceeds 2.000 people, with 85% of permanent contracts. In addition, the indirect impact of Inditex in Aragon is estimated at between 6.000 and 7.000 people. “Aragon is a fundamental pillar in our logistics and technological strategy”, García Maceiras stressed. Inditex has also announced the construction of a new logistics centre in Zaragoza, which will be a benchmark in sustainability and technology, with a view to starting operations in 2025.
