Informative video conference
There are two types of coverage offered by CESCE: coverage on guarantees and guarantees in favor of the seller. Both are now available.
More than 300 attendees have connected to the informative video conference for the launch of the credit risk policies for electro-intensive consumers managed by the Spanish Export Credit Insurance Company (CESCE). The event was chaired by the Secretary General of Industry and SMEs, Raul Blanco; the director of the State Account Area of CESCE, Beatrice Reguero; and the head of the Large Clients Unit of CESCE, Juan Pujol.
To Raul Blanco, “the signing of bilateral contracts between energy producers and consumers will give stability and competitiveness to the electro-intensive industry in the medium and long term. The risk posed by these bilateral contracts can be assumed by the State through these CESCE policies.”
Within the Electrointensive Statute approved by the Government, the creation of the Spanish Reserve Fund for Guarantees of Electrointensive Entities is included (FERGEI), endowed with €200M, which will assume the coverage of the risks derived from the acquisition of electrical energy in the medium and long term of electro-intensive consumers.
This mechanism encourages these consumers' long-term contracting of electrical energy produced by electrical energy generation facilities, and in particular from renewable generation facilities, through mechanisms to cover the guarantees that consumers have to provide for the signing of contracts. said contracts through CESCE.
The coverage modalities offered by CESCE are two: coverage on guarantees and guarantees in favor of the seller. Both are now available. To benefit from these modalities you must be an electro-intensive consumer, you must sign a bilateral contract for at least five years and the energy must be of renewable origin. Companies in crisis will not be eligible. The coverage percentage could reach up to 80% of the loss.
In the guarantee modality, it will be the bank that requests it from CESCE. And as for the guarantees, the applicant will be the seller of the energy.
