If this trend continues, the sector could register a new record of travelers in 2025. According to data from the UN Tourism (formerly known as the World Tourism Organization), the performance was uneven across regions. Both the African continent and the Asia-Pacific region grew by over 10%. Europe, for its part, received nearly 340 million international tourists, up 4% compared to the first half of 2024. The trend in the Americas was particularly mixed. While Latin America recorded solid growth, with a 14% increase, the number of tourists in the United States declined slightly. As in previous reports, UN Tourism warns that several factors, such as geopolitical tensions and rising transportation and accommodation costs, could hinder the sector's performance in the coming months.
