Jordi Hereu urges international investors to invest in Spain during the opening of the financial forum 'Spain Investors Day'

 

The Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu, encouraged the major international investors to consider Spain as an attractive destination for their investments. Speaking at the 15th edition of the financial forum 'Spain Investors Day'Hereu highlighted the country's strong economic results amid an uncertain global context.

 

Hereu stressed that Spain is moving towards a modernization both in its industry and in the tourism sector, focusing on the sustainability and generating new quality jobs. In his words: “Public-private collaboration is key to our economic and social growth”. He also acknowledged the positive impact that the Strategic Projects for Economic Recovery and Transformation (PERTE) and European funds have had.

 

 

Hereu has recalled that the new Law on Industry and Strategic Autonomy is a fundamental element to give confidence to foreign investors

 

 

A crucial aspect mentioned by the minister was the new Law on Industry and Strategic Autonomy. This legislation introduces the figure of the 'strategic industrial project', designed to speed up authorizations and procedures necessary for new projects that benefit the general interest of the country. According to Hereu, this measure is especially aimed at promoting new foreign investments: “We want to give confidence to our international partners with a solid legal framework that facilitates their operations”.

 

In conclusion, Jordi Hereu reaffirmed the Spanish government's commitment to the structural reforms necessary to attract foreign direct investment, thereby consolidating Spain as an economic benchmark within the European and international panorama.
