“Connected to the future” infrastructure conference
The president of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce considers the €4.200 billion investment in infrastructure to be excellent news for Catalonia.
The president of the Chamber of Commerce of Spain, José Luis Bonet, considers it excellent news for Catalonia the investment of 4.200 billion euros in infrastructure, announced by the President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy.
At the end of the intervention of the head of the Executive in the Conference on “Connected to the future” infrastructures, which was held in Barcelona, José Luis Bonet has especially highlighted the investments announced in the Mediterranean Corridor.
The president of the Chamber of Spain He stressed that this geographic axis is the most dynamic from an economic perspective, and all actions affecting it will have an impact on the structuring and improvement of the country's competitiveness and, therefore, on the well-being of all Spaniards.
Joseph Louis Bonet has recalled the studies carried out by the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona which establish three priority objectives in the actions in the Mediterranean Corridor:
Offer sufficient capacity to cover current and future demand for passenger and freight transport.
Provide a balanced offer of infrastructure and modes of transport which allows rationalizing the use of transport and avoiding friction between different types of traffic (short and long distance, passenger and freight).
Allow the organization and management of the intermodality in an optimal way, especially in transport nodes and logistics centers.
The actions announced to enhance the Mediterranean Corridor will be reinforced, in the opinion of the president of the Chamber of Spain, the country's role as a international logistics platform and will contribute to the growth of foreign trade, key element to achieve a more stable and sustainable economic growth model
