Asturian companies are recognized for their excellence in planning and executing international strategies in the non-exporting and exporting company categories, respectively.
In this inaugural edition, Junquera and Diz SL has been awarded the Exporta Award for the best Internationalization Plan in the non-exporting company categoryWhile The Newyorkina SL has obtained the same recognition in the category of exporting company. In addition, the jury has decided to award a special mention to the enterprise Proasur for his outstanding international career.
The jury, chaired by Bruno López Vizcón, general director of Asturex, evaluated a total of 16 finalist candidates based on criteria of technical quality, innovation and results obtainedAlong with López Vizcón, the jury included Beatriz Álvarez González, Director of International Business at Caja Rural; Cristina López Duarte, Dean of the Jovellanos School of Commerce, Tourism, and Social Sciences; Ángeles Silverio Juez, Coordinator of the Regional Promotion Society (SRP); Nieves Díaz García, Regional Director of Commerce and ICEX; and David González Fernández, Executive Director of Sekuens.
Bruno López Vizcón thanked Caja Rural for its sponsorship and highlighted "the high level of the plans presented and the commitment of Asturian companies to internationalization as a strategic path to growth"He added that the objective of these awards is "To highlight the success stories that perfectly represent the diversity of the Asturian business fabric. These are companies from very different sectors, with very different international ventures, that represent Asturias with their products, services and the good work of their professionals.". About the winners, he said: "We have chosen two companies that are two very attractive projects, with highly professional people who are internationalizing very quickly."Regarding the mention of Proasur, he pointed out that the company "It has a very attractive product, which is successful internationally with very important recognized projects, and we believe that it represents that 'made in Asturias' work very well and that it deserves to have that recognition.".
For her part, Beatriz Álvarez González, on behalf of Caja Rural de Asturias, stressed "The importance of recognizing and supporting the efforts of Asturian companies that have already taken a step towards internationalization"He congratulated the winners and Proasur, stating: "At Caja Rural, we believe that internationalization is a key path to business growth. Combining Asturex's training and advice with Caja Rural's financial support creates a successful route to internationalization. These awards are a long-term commitment to recognizing those companies that have successfully internationalized, as they will serve as an inspiration to many more.".
Award-Winning Companies:
- Junquera and Diz SL: Dedicated to the production of orthoses and insoles since 1992. Since implementing its plans with the support of the Asturex Export Programs in 2022, it has increased its exports by 178%The jury valued its access to new markets in Europe, Asia, Africa and America, its commitment to differentiating products and its diversified strategy market entry (specific brand in Germany, agreements with purchasing centres in France, local partner in Panama for LATAM, tenders in Saudi Arabia).
- The Newyorkina SL: Producer of artisan granolas, overnights and bars since 2017. Has increased its percentage of international sales over total turnover by 20% in 2021 and has opened 18 new markets in three years, currently present in 22 countries. The jury highlighted its ability to develop a internationalizable product and brand and plan strategies adapted to each market, using distributors, commercial agents, logistics partners, global agreements and online platforms (B2B and B2C).
Both winning companies will receive a financial endowment of 3.000 Euros, and the consultants responsible for the award-winning projects will receive 750 Euros.
These awards are part of the Asturex Export Programs (Exporta Inicio, Exporta Digital, and Exporta Más), designed to support Asturian companies in the different stages of their internationalization process.
The official presentation of the awards will take place at a public event scheduled for next month. May.
