The integration of a new collaborating partner is approved
The first fairs held after the summer holidays and the programming of the next events in the different Spanish cities suggest a highly positive quarter.

The first half of the current year saw the return of important events and, once again, pavilions full of exhibiting companies and visitors through the corridors and in the stands. The members of the AFE They counted the celebration of more than 200 fairs in total. The second semester maintains a similar dynamic with the forecast of many other events, including those of a professional nature and those aimed at the public. With the data indicated, the exercise will approach the numbers recorded in recent pre-pandemic years and the total recovery of the sector will foreseeably be achieved in 2023.
On the other hand, the members of the Board of Directors have approved the request for integration into the association of a new collaborating partner. This is the company Montecolino Ibérica, which makes carpets, rugs, artificial grass, personalized products and accessories.
El President of AFE, Xabier Basañez, stated “We resume the fair activity with great optimism. We are approaching the number of pre-pandemic events and the feeling of the different operators is very positive. With these perspectives, we cordially welcome a new partner, Montecolino Ibérica, which further reinforces the representativeness of our association. This new incorporation will undoubtedly benefit reciprocally both in the AFE and in Montecolino".
Montecolino Iberian was established in 2003 and has its headquarters in Paterna (Valencia). The parent company Montecolino, Spa is located in Italy. It has a structure of 54.000 m2 on an area of 120.000 m2, a productive potential of more than 15 million m2, more than 3.000 active clients and they have modern production technologies. Their main commitment today is to take care of the planet and they are fully focused on offering recyclable products to their customers to promote the circular economy.
The Association of Spanish Fairs, a non-profit entity that was established in 1964, has 34 associate members and represents 90% of the fair activity in our country. Trade fairs in Spain generate an annual impact estimated at 13.000 million euros (direct, indirect and induced impact), which represents a contribution to the national GDP of 6.500 million euros and the generation of 123.000 direct and indirect jobs. Spain is among the main countries of Europe regarding fairs, together with Germany, France, Italy and the United Kingdom.
