The Almería Chamber of Commerce brings business opportunities in Turkey closer to companies

A score of Almeria companies mainly from the agricultural auxiliary industry, have participated in the meeting on Türkiye as an opportunity market organized by the Almeria Chamber of Commerce; an event that has aimed to learn more about this market that brings together a series of characteristics that make it a destination to take into account to take advantage of commercial opportunities in the region and in which the commercial advisor of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye, Nazli Seza Onat, and Yasemen Korukçu, counselor of the Investment Office.

 

Türkiye is ranked 19th in the world and is considered one of the largest emerging economies in the world; Not in vain, it has experienced significant growth in its exportation and importation in recent decades and has become one of the main players in the field of international trade, taking advantage of its strategic location and economic diversity.

 

At the beginning of this meeting, the President of the Chamber, Jerónimo Parra, which has referred to one of the main factors that make Turkey attractive for companies: its internal market. “Sectors such as tourism, construction, automotive, information technology, renewable energy and agriculture offer ample opportunities for companies seeking to expand in the Turkish market.”

 

The commercial counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey, Nazli Seza Onat, and Yasemen Korukçu, counselor of the Investment Office, participated in the meeting.

 

Export and import data  Almeria – Türkiye Today they register a negative balance, since the value of Almería's imports is greater than the province's exports to the Turkish market. Fertilizers, plastics, stone manufactures, plaster or cement are the main products that Almería sells to Turkey for a value of 10.685.000 euros.

 

Conversely, Almería imports salt, sulfur, lime, plastics, iron or steel, among others, worth 139.842.000 euros from the country.

 

In general terms, the attending companies, some of them recycling companies, have shown interest in delving into the opportunities of this market and even getting to know it in situ, taking advantage of the instruments and tools offered by the advisors of the Turkish embassy who have exposed the advantages of Türkiye as a foreign destination.
