The Chamber of Spain recognizes the best practices of the Chamber Network at the service of companies

Awards

The purpose of the Chamber Awards is to highlight and value the contribution of the territorial Chambers in areas of great relevance for the economic and social progress of Spain.

La Chamber of Commerce of Spain has held the third edition of the Chambers Awards in which the winners have been: the Chamber of Murcia in the Internationalization category; the Tarragona Chamber in Digitalization; the Madrid Chamber in Formation; the Valencia Chamber of Sustainability; the Chamber of A Coruña in Entrepreneurship; the Chamber of Gran Canaria in Arbitration and Mediation; and the Chamber of Teruel in the Social Leadership category.

 

The delivery has been chaired by the Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereuwho highlighted “the vital contribution of the Chambers of Commerce, spread throughout the country, in defending trade and industry” and appealed for their collaboration in promoting the reindustrialization of our country. “A major objective in which we need everyone’s participation, including that of the regional Chambers and the Chamber of Commerce of Spain, to help us on this path. Because only together, companies, the public sector and institutions such as chambers, can we achieve the challenges that the future demands of us,” she noted.

 

From the Chamber of Spain, its president, Joseph Louis BonetShe emphasized that “through the 2023 Chamber Awards, we want to recognize the magnificent work that the chambers do for businesses and society.” In her speech, she recalled that “our commitment as chambers of commerce is to ensure that the key role that businesses play as creators of wealth and employment in a social market economy system like ours is recognized. Spain is a country of SMEs, which need all our support and backing to maintain their spirits and not be discouraged by the many difficulties they face.”

 

Internationalization Award

 

The winner of the award in the Internationalization category was the Chamber of Murcia by “Digital Internationalization Congress (CID MURCIA)”. This congress was born to publicize the advantages that the online environment offers companies in their internationalization process. This is an innovative initiative, since it integrates internationalization with digitalization. The initiative has the collaboration of the Chambers of Commerce of Cartagena and Lorca and the government of the Region of Murcia.

 

This project is not only innovative, but also supportive, since the money raised from tickets and workshops goes to an NGO.

 

The president of the Chamber of Commerce of Murcia, Miguel Lopez Abad, recalled that from Murcia they have helped, even during confinement, for companies to internationalize, because "the Chambers have to reach every corner and help all companies."

 

From the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, its president, José Luis Bonet, emphasized that “through the 2023 Chamber Awards we want to recognize the magnificent work that the chambers do for businesses and society.”

 

Digitization Award

 

The winner of the digitization award was Tarragona Chamber. The initiative “CambraTGN 360” was created in 2022 to meet the needs of SMEs in the face of changes in the business and technological world, based on the conviction that digitalization is an opportunity to increase competitiveness and, therefore, the economic growth of companies. Based on the experience of the Acelera Pyme Office, the Chamber has developed this service in order to promote the adoption of new technologies and the automation of processes. Collecting the award, the president of the Chamber of Tarragona, Laura Roigé, thanked the Chamber workers who made the implementation of this project possible.

Training Award

The winner of this award has been Chamber of Madrid on your initiative “Center of excellence in Health Training Chamber of Madrid – Metrodora FP”. The purpose of this project is to meet the growing demand for professionals in the health field. In addition, it seeks to establish links with the more than 16.700 companies in the socio-health sector present in Madrid, and cover the needs of the 134 hospitals, both public and private. Ángel Asensio, president of the Madrid Chamber, has assured that “it is a pride to belong to the chamber network and help make public-private collaboration a reality that is made possible by the Chambers.”

Sustainability Award

The winner of this category was Chamber of Commerce of Valencia that has launched the “Sustainability Office” to help local companies and administrations to be more sustainable in a practical way and generating impact. As a complement to the Sustainability Office, the Chamber has a Sustainability Portal where companies can obtain information and solutions to advance in sustainability. When collecting the award, the president of the Chamber of Valencia, José Vicente Morata, recalled that the Chambers are there to “raise awareness, inform and train” SMEs in matters of sustainability to help them in their growth.

Entrepreneurship Award

The winner in the Entrepreneurship category was Chamber of A Coruña with your projectEDUINSPIRE”, which aims to show VET students the benefits of entrepreneurship. This initiative consists of bringing companies and young people together through talks and workshops that use an experiential methodology to promote entrepreneurship.

Arbitration and Mediation Award

The winner of this award has been Chamber of Gran Canaria on your initiative “Chamber Mediation Service”. Since its inception in 2021, after a process of training mediators and close coordination with commercial judges, mediation cases have had exponential growth. They have carried out 52 procedures, with the participation of more than 28 mediators and 200 people, which has undoubtedly contributed to promoting and disseminating mediation. Luis Padrón, president of the Chamber, remarked when collecting the award that arbitration is the “green shoot of the Chambers” and, in addition, he assured that he hopes that “the saturation that the current judicial system has will be lightened with the mediation and arbitration”.

Social Leadership Award

The winner in the Social Leadership category was Teruel Chamber. The project "Rural Multi-Service" It was born in order to support the continuity of commerce in rural areas of the province, where the population is scarce. This project consists of providing basic services to the population in areas where commerce is no longer present or is in danger of disappearing. These services are not only important from a commercial perspective, but they also have a great social impact. Upon collecting the award, Antonio Santa Isabel, president of the Chamber of Teruel, stated that “this initiative is a reality in the fight against depopulation and works so well that it is already being copied in other Communities and even in some countries of Europe".
