Meeting at the headquarters of the Chamber of Spain
The general director of the Chamber of Spain has emphasized the importance of chamber activity in supporting and encouraging Spanish companies to go abroad, given the importance of internationalization as a fundamental way for the growth of the economy.

The general and international directors of the network of territorial chambers have met at the headquarters of the Chamber of Spain to coordinate its activities and programs regarding internationalization.
The general director of the Chamber of Spain, Immaculate Riera, has emphasized the importance of chamber activity in supporting and stimulating the exit abroad of Spanish companies, given the importance of the Capabilities as a fundamental way to improve business competitiveness and the growth of the economy.
Riera has encouraged the chamber network to count on “the chambers of commerce abroad in all those international actions that they promote.”
El International Director, Jaime Montalvo, has explained the International Action Plan of the Chamber of Spain, which includes everything from actions framed in institutional representativeness, such as the organization of business meetings, to the management of programs and services. Montalvo has invited the territorial chambers to develop a joint Work Plan that incorporates specific actions on specific countries and serves to coordinate the joint actions of territorial chambers that involve chambers from different Autonomous Communities, the activities with CAMACOES or institutional visits to the European Union through the Delegation of the Spanish Chamber in Brussels.
La Director of the Delegation, Pilar Ruiz Huélamo, has presented the delegation's action plan to strengthen the participation of the Spanish chambers in Europe, which will revolve around three axes "the transfer of knowledge, institutional relations and presence in forums" and has invited the territorial chambers to organize trade missions for SMEs within the framework of action of the European Union.
For its part, Carmen Rodríguez, from the competitiveness department of the Chamber of Spain, explained the new program International Mentoring, which will help the institutional positioning of the camera network. Rodríguez explained that this is a project for exporting SMEs that want to open up to new markets or improve their positioning in markets in which they are already present, and that they will be supervised by mentors from large companies with experience in said markets to prosper in their internationalization objectives.
During the day there was also a table on “Good practices, programs and initiatives at the international level of territorial chambers of commerce” in which representatives from several chambers have participated to publicize outstanding projects. Begoña Cañete, International Director of the Chamber of Gran Canaria, has advanced the organization of the first “Meeting of the Chamber of Commerce of Spain and West Africa” which will take place on November 22, where there will be a forum for high-level conferences, B2B meetings and a space for networking.
On behalf of the Chamber of Tarragona, its International Director has spoken, Roberto Barros, to share their experience organizing trade missions to up to 40 African countriesWhile Eduardo Flores, International Director of the Chamber of Seville, explained his trade missions to Latin American countries and the Ibero-American approach to his international strategy.
Likewise, Luz Martínez, responsible for advice and external promotion of Valencia Chamber, has presented the Chamber's Internationalization portal, as well as the Valencia Chamber Club, with which they have created a value network with Valencian companies. Javier Zubia, general director of the Gipuzkoa Chamber, explained the internationalization services of the Basque chambers. Lastly, Nieves Agreda, deputy general director of the Chamber of Zaragoza, has shown how they use intelligence tools (big data, Artificial Intelligence and data mining) to monitor national and international competitors for SMEs that require it and thus know the situation of the Foreign markets.
Finally, the presidents of the two federations of chambers abroad took part in the meeting.
Eduardo Barrachina, president of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the United Kingdom and president of FEDECOM, has advocated for closer collaboration between chamber institutions. “We already have bilateral relations, but we have to move towards multilateralism between the Network of Chambers Abroad and the territorial chambers, all with the Chamber of Spain leading,” he stated.
For its part, Antonio Basagoiti, president of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Mexico and FECECA, has shown the predisposition of cameras abroad in America. “Our 21 chambers are able to meet any requirement from the territorial chambers to support any company that needs it,” she assured.
