La Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Madrid, in collaboration with the Region of Madrid and the Higher Institute of Law and Economics (IS THE), has inaugurated the fourth edition of the program Foreign Trade Technicians for the 2024-2025 academic year. This program aims to enhance the employability of young talents while promoting the internationalization of Madrid companies.
Key figures such as: Angel Asensio, president of the Madrid Chamber of Commerce, Rocio Albert Lopez-Ibor, Minister of Economy, Finance and Employment of the Community of Madrid, and Juan José Sánchez Puig, managing director of ISDE. In addition, Jose Ignacio Sanchez-Galan Garcia-Tabernero, Director of Purchasing and Services of the Iberdrola Group, gave a presentation entitled “Internationalisation and Sustainable Growth”.
Since its creation in 2021, the program has trained 120 young people, of whom 62 have completed internships in more than 35 strategic markets.
The program, which is part of the Industrial Plan of the Community of Madrid, is designed to strengthen Madrid's industry and its export capacity. Ángel Asensio highlighted the importance of this initiative by stating that “this initiative positions and consolidates Madrid as the leading region in the internationalisation of our companies”. He added that “internationalisation is key to the growth of economic activity and to the consolidation of a growth model based on the advancement of productivity”.
Rocio Albert Lopez-Ibor He also highlighted the value of the programme, saying that “students are the best ambassadors for our companies and there is no greater responsibility.” He stressed the importance of creating strong companies capable of competing in international markets.
In this fourth edition, 45 candidates will receive 300 hours of training, and 24 of them will be selected to support Madrid entities in their internationalization process.
